Over 100 years ago in the late 1800’s an Irishman named Patsy Mehaney had a dream inspired by his taste buds to create the best candied popcorn and confections he could, which he sold at local fairs and various events. Legend has it that Patsy crafted a caramel popcorn recipe so good he traded it in a gambling bet to two brothers who infamously started a company called Cracker Jack that’s still sold to this day in nearly every professional baseball stadium around the country. Due to health reasons Patsy moved out west to Colorado and settled in Colorado in 1903 and started Patsy’s Candies where they still make candies with his famous recipes today.
